Tuition Benefits
Avila University provides a tuition remission plan for courses at Avila University for all full-time and part-time employees, their spouse and children. Tuition remission does not imply total remission of all educational costs. Several educational expenses, such as fees, books, room, board and special course charges, are the responsibility of the student. Children of employees are eligible for tuition remission benefits if they are: natural and dependent, legally adopted and dependent, or dependent as defined by the IRS; no more than 24 years of age; enrolled full time, degree seeking; and making satisfactory progress according to the standards established by the University; and have applied for Tuition Remission form approved by the employee’s immediate supervisor and area department Chief to the Director of Financial Aid at least two weeks prior to the start of the academic semester or trimester.
• Undergraduate remission is 100% of tuition for full-time faculty, administrative, professional and staff assistants and their spouse and eligible children; and 50% for part-time faculty, administrative, professional and staff assistants and their spouse and eligible children.
• Graduate remission is 65% of tuition for full-time faculty, administrative, professional and staff assistants and their spouse; and 33% for part-time faculty, administrative, professional and staff assistants and their spouse. Eligible dependent children of the employee receive remission of 40% for full-time employees and 20% for part-time employees to attend Avila University.
• Active adjunct faculty at Avila University are eligible to receive tuition remission benefits equivalent to the part-time employee benefit for undergraduate and graduate courses taken exclusively at the Avila University campus.
• Dependent children of siblings of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet employed at Avila University are eligible for 100% tuition remission. Former employees who have given 20 years or more of fulltime service to the institution retain tuition remission benefits for themselves
